Biking Vocational High School introduced a new project called CI SWIPE (Students’ Waste Incentivized Points and Eco Care), which rewards points for students for collecting and sorting trash.
The program won at the district level, advancing the team—Calin Mar Bolofer, Angelito Bulala, Christine Micabani, Monaliza Virtudazo, Gelie Ann Delito, Asuncion Anne Cirunay, and Jomarie Gutierrez—to the congressional level.
The project, led by Dr. Calin Mar Bolofer, aimed to promote proper waste management and correct segregation of garbage around the school.
Bulala said CI Swipe was created after observing that waste at BTVHS was scattered and not properly sorted. In simple terms, students collect trash, submit it to school officers, and earn points that count toward their performance tasks.
The project has helped keep the school grounds clean while encouraging students to practice proper waste management.
